Magic: The Gathering creator Richard Garfield announces the release of Vanguard Exiles, a pioneering autobattler, scheduled for early access in March.

Richard Garfield, the mastermind behind Magic: The Gathering, introduces Vanguard Exiles—an autobattler set to make its early access debut on March 11. The game emphasizes competitive strategy gameplay with unique scenarios in every round, ensuring a fresh experience.

Gameplay Insights

As players navigate each round, the game board continuously rearranges itself, demanding strategic thinking to maintain territory and survive. Despite its complexity, newcomers can easily grasp the rules and begin playing.

“Vanguard Exiles combines tabletop design with digital design into a unique and eclectic gameplay experience,” Richard remarked. “The variety offered by the game is exciting, and skillful play introduces all sorts of unexpected novelty.”

Currently, a demo for Vanguard Exiles is available on Steam, allowing players to engage in combat against an AI to learn the ropes. The PvP mode will launch alongside the full release.
