A Warning: Don't Watch This Disturbing 'Faceless' Robot Video

An unsettling look at a new humanoid robot that provokes both intrigue and horror.

A Warning: Don’t Watch This Disturbing ‘Faceless’ Robot Video

I’m not kidding. Avoid looking at it.

Why did you click on this article? I specifically asked you not to. Close it before you regret it. You might think witnessing this pale, human-like robot—an anatomically accurate, faceless being—dangling from wires and silently thrashing its sinewy limbs is fascinating, but it really isn’t.

This is your final opportunity to turn away from the video embedded below:

The robot, created by Clone Robotics, is crafted to look similar to a human but lacks a face, which might just be a blessing. If it had a face, who knows what it might express? This ‘musculoskeletal’ android is designed not with cold metal but rather with materials that mimic human anatomy, rendering it all the more unsettling.

According to the Clone website, “The Clone’s muscular system animates the skeleton thanks to Clone’s revolutionary Myofiber artificial muscle technology, which connects each musculotendon unit to anatomically accurate points on the bones.”

Without a mouth and eyes, it can nevertheless perceive its surroundings with four depth cameras in its skull. Adding to its strangely gross design, it even features a vascular system that pumps fluids similar to a human heart.

While some might find this innovation inspiring, the reality of its existence raises profound concerns. Why create such a machine in this manner? Proponents argue that soft materials may pose less risk; however, this android seems destined to fall over constantly, possibly endangering pets or children.

Features included in pre-orders for the Clone Alpha (if they ever come to fruition):

  • Memorizes home layouts
  • Maintains a record of kitchen inventory
  • Capable of witty dialogue
  • Assists with household tasks

Honestly, I suspect none of these features will fully materialize.

Final Thoughts

This android appears more likely to misbehave than to help with chores—spilling drinks, injuring itself, or even creating terrifying situations where it looms over you in the middle of the night.

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”
