Voice Actor Peter Jason, Known for Fallout 2 and Gears of War, Passes Away

Peter Jason, recognized for his iconic roles in gaming and film, has died after a long career in the industry.

Peter Jason, noted for his roles as Drill Sergeant Dornan in Fallout 2 and Dizzy in the Gears of War series, has passed away at the age of 80. His career extended over several decades, making him a familiar face in both film and television. Among his credits, he collaborated often with director John Carpenter and had notable roles in classics such as Deadwood, Prince of Darkness, and 48 Hrs.

Elias Toufexis, recognized for his work in games and TV, reminisced about Jason, calling him “the consummate character actor.” Carpenter shared heartfelt memories, stating, “Peter Jason, one of the great character actors in cinema, has died. His first movie was Howard Hawks’ Rio Lobo. He was a dear friend and I’ll miss him terribly.”

Peter Jason’s contributions also spanned several video games where he left a memorable mark. Fallout: New Vegas even acknowledged his impact by referencing his character years after his original appearance.

A report from Variety indicates that Jason’s passing was due to cancer. His legacy as a voice actor in the gaming industry remains significant.
