Among Us 3D Update
A new version of Among Us is in the pipeline: Among Us 3D is set to bring the current VR iteration to traditional screens, enabling players who lack a VR headset to participate in the first-person gameplay of the original 2D social deduction game.
Innersloth and Schell Games revealed Among Us 3D with a vague timeline, stating it will be released soon, and a demo will be available this Monday during Steam Next Fest, an event where many developers launch their game demos on Steam.
The core mechanics of Among Us 3D will largely mirror the existing VR version, adjusted for gameplay without VR controls and featuring a new HUD. Crossplay is also confirmed, allowing players from both versions to engage in games together.
Currently, Among Us VR will continue to exist as a standalone title on Steam but will undergo rebranding as Among Us 3D to clarify the connection between VR and non-VR versions. However, neither will connect with the original 2D version, which is notably distinct.
Additionally, the developers have hinted at introducing a new currency named Stardust in the coming months, aimed to enhance customization features for players and support the game’s expansion.
