HBO Sets Release Date for The Last of Us Season 2: April 13
Fans of The Last of Us can mark their calendars as HBO confirms the release date for the highly anticipated Season 2.
HBO has finally confirmed the premiere date for The Last of Us Season 2. Previously scheduled for April, they announced that the new season will debut on April 13.
Season 2 will see the return of sad dad Joel (Pedro Pascal) and strong teen Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they continue to navigate a world overrun by mushroom monsters. The upcoming season will leap forward five years and introduce new characters including Abby, portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever, as well as Catherina O’Hara in a currently undisclosed role. Jeffrey Wright will also be reprising his role as Isaac Dixon from Season 1.
For those who find themselves juggling streaming subscriptions, there’s some good news: Season 2 consists of only seven episodes, in contrast to the first season’s nine. This makes it easier for viewers to subscribe just for the duration of the season without the necessity of a longer commitment.
Alternatively, fans could wait for the first episodes to air and then subscribe temporarily to watch the remainder. In fact, hunting down a free trial after the season concludes might just let you experience the entire season at no cost.
For those eager for a story before watching the adaptation, it is highly recommended to play The Last of Us Part 2, which will be released on Steam on April 3, just ahead of the show’s season launch.
“Season one was a worthy interpretation of the game, but HBO’s Joel and Ellie had drifted far away from their originals by the finale,” shared a fan.
