Super Bowl champion DeVonta Smith responds to claims of cheating during Call of Duty: Warzone gameplay after a video surfaces online.

Summary

  • NFL player DeVonta Smith denies cheating during a recent Call of Duty: Warzone livestream.
  • The claims arose after a viral clip showcased Smith’s notable performance in the game.
  • Cheating remains a significant concern in Call of Duty, prompting skepticism from the community.

DeVonta Smith, a professional football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, has addressed rumors about cheating in a Call of Duty: Warzone livestream. The 26-year-old, who recently celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory at the 2025 Super Bowl, faced backlash after a social media clip of him playing Warzone sparked allegations of cheating.

While Smith is recognized within the gaming community for his Twitch presence, with around 15,000 followers, the viral clip raised eyebrows, receiving over 5 million views. Following the accusations, Smith tweeted, “Since y’all think I’m cheating on COD just join the stream tonight.”

Beginning his stream, Smith jokingly referenced the accusations: “They’re all on Twitter [saying] I’m hacking, man.” After fans defended him in the Twitch chat, he reiterated, “I ain’t hacking…I can handle my own but I ain’t hacking, man.”

Despite Smith’s clarifications, the intensified scrutiny reflects ongoing frustrations in the Call of Duty community regarding cheaters. Activision has announced improvements to its anti-cheat measures, yet players on PC still report encounters with hackers frequently.
