Toby Fox Continues Progress on Deltarune, Development Complexity Remains

Deltarune's upcoming chapters are nearing completion, but quality assurance is still in progress.

Much-loved Undertale developer Toby Fox’s followup-spinoff, Deltarune, is progressing as planned. The next two chapters are in the quality assurance phase, following prior releases in 2019 and 2021.

Fox announced that Chapters 3 and 4 are substantially complete and currently undergoing testing to fix bugs before launch, emphasizing a holistic testing of all chapters across multiple platforms, including PC, Mac, Switch, PS4, and PS5.

“Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there’s a lot to go through. (Haven’t even tested PS5 yet),” said Fox. “In addition to fixing Chapter 3 and 4, we also need to implement the ability for saves from the DEMO to carry over to the main game on consoles… We only received the technology to do this now. I hope it works!”

The current goal is to ensure a seamless experience for players across platforms, and Fox is actively incorporating feedback from testers during the QA phase. For ongoing updates, Fox encourages fans to connect via social media.
