Embark Responds to Player Feedback, Cutting Down Costs for Arc Raiders' Next Expedition

In a significant change, Embark Studios is reducing the cost and requirements for players participating in Arc Raiders' upcoming second Expedition, as a direct response to community feedback.

For many players who have exhausted their options in Arc Raiders and find that they need to wipe their progress and start anew, the previous Expedition felt unsatisfactory. “Honestly, it wasn’t worth it,” Sean Martin mentioned upon completion. The requirements were quite a grind, and the rewards were unimpressive.

As a response to this, Embark is altering its approach for the second Expedition, set to kick off on March 1.

To start, they acknowledged player feedback regarding the previous high Stash value requirements for full rewards and plan to lower this threshold significantly to three million Coins (equating to 600k per Skill Point). “The reward remains five skill points for achieving this stash value,” Embark stated in a recent blog post.

This is a drastic decrease from the five million Coins required for full skill point bonuses in the initial Expedition, showcasing an understanding of the community’s sentiment.

To assist previous players, Embark is also implementing a ‘catch-up mechanic’ allowing those who missed out last time to earn the previous season’s skill points with less effort. During the second Expedition, players will need to collect 300k Stash value per missing Skill Point from the first Expedition, which could lead to extra skill points for first-timers participating in this event, topping it off at four and a half million Coins total for a maximum enhancement of ten skill points.

Expect rewards that escalate from the previous Expedition, alongside a variety of new customization options for outfits.

Key Changes:

  • Required stash value reduced from 5 million to 3 million Coins for rewards.
  • Introduction of a catch-up mechanic for missed skill points.
  • Enhanced rewards and additional customization options introduced for the upcoming Expedition.
