Guerrilla Games has finally revealed their long-anticipated cooperative game, Horizon Hunters Gathering, set to launch on PC. Described as a tactical action game, it allows up to three players to take on the roles of powerful hunters tasked with defending the world from menacing machines.
This new entry in the Horizon franchise differs from previous installments, focusing on co-op gameplay rather than a single-player narrative. Jan-Bart van Beek, the studio director, emphasized that while the game features a cameo from Aloy, the new game stands entirely on its own.
In an announcement video, Arjan Bak, the game director, stated that the combat will be tactical and team-based. Players will need to combine abilities and strategize to defeat powerful machines.
A narrative campaign with new mysteries and characters will also be integrated into the game after launch. Players can connect in a social hub to prepare for battles and celebrate victories together.
Notably, players can sign up for a closed playtest starting later this month via Sony’s beta program for both PlayStation 5 and PC, with the game now available for wishlist on Steam!
Further updates and insights into the game can be followed through the associated Horizon Hunters Gathering Discord.
