The recent backlash surrounding the horror game Horses led to its unexpected removal from the Humble Store, but it’s back now after a thorough review. The developer, Pietro Righi Riva, indicated that while the game’s content may be heavy, the Humble team concluded that nothing warranted its removal.
“Their team saw the press coverage and temporarily delisted Horses to reevaluate it,” Riva explained. “After a full review, they determined that while the content is heavy, nothing in the game warrants removal from their store.”
Translation: “The team saw the media coverage and decided to take Horses down temporarily to reassess it. Following a complete review, they found that despite the heavy content, nothing in the game called for its removal.”
This nuanced situation highlights the complexities surrounding game content scrutiny and the challenges developers face in navigating platform policies.
