Publisher Activision has confirmed that anyone owning the latest installment in the franchise will enjoy a 30% XP boost in the free-to-play Battle Royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone. This controversial benefit will take effect beginning with Season 1 next month, enhancing the experience for players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 as they dive into Warzone. The announcement means gamers will have a faster progression for both character and weapon upgrades compared to those without the newest version.

After a successful launch earlier this month, Activision and Treyarch Studios have revealed the significant content update for the first season, set to debut on December 4. During this season, iconic maps from the Black Ops series will return, including Standoff, Meltdown, and Fringe. Additionally, there will be new weapons available in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone, alongside a new Battle Pass and numerous Operator skins.

The 30% XP boost mirrors similar incentives offered to players of Black Ops 6 during its lifecycle and has sparked discussions regarding fairness among the player community. While those who do not own Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will face a disadvantage in leveling up their weapons and characters without this bonus, many argue that such a system promotes unfair gameplay in a free-to-play environment.

With multiple ways to obtain Double XP Tokens also available through promotional events and the upcoming Battle Pass, all players will have opportunities to enhance their gameplay experience regardless of their ownership status in the latest titles.
