December 2025 Plans for Pokémon GO Unveiled

Niantic announces exciting events and content for Pokémon GO players in December 2025, including Community Day and raids.

As December approaches, Niantic has revealed its plans for Pokémon GO throughout the month, featuring an array of special events, including raids and Community Days.

What’s Coming in December?

The upcoming month is set to be vibrant for players, offering opportunities to catch Pokémon that might have been missed previously, as well as a chance to obtain one of the game’s rarest items.

Niantic is reintroducing the Master Ball in Pokémon GO, but unlike before, players must now acquire a specific Masterwork Research task to unlock it. Those who prefer not to spend real money will still find numerous free events and content available this December.

Highlighted Events

Niantic’s overview highlights various events:

  • Journey to Paldea Event on December 2: Get your first opportunity to catch Nacli along with its evolutions, Naclstack and Garganacl. Players will earn double XP during raids and increases chances for Shiny versions of Larvitar and Bagon during this event.

  • Weekly changes in Max Battles: Starting with Darumaka, and followed by Cryogonal, Kabuto, Spheal, and Omanyte. Notably, Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom will feature in new 5-Star Raids, alongside the appearances of Mega Gyarados, Mega Abomasnow, and Mega Glalie.

This December, players can also look forward to a Community Day running over December 6-7, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, allowing them to catch all previous Community Day spotlight Pokémon.

Storage Improvements

To assist with capturing the new Pokémon, Pokémon GO has enhanced item storage limits by an additional 1,000 slots, now allowing players to hold up to 10,500 items and a maximum of 11,150 Pokémon with the right upgrades.
