Producer of Resident Evil Requiem Hints at Return of Classic Characters

Hints from the producer indicate a potential return of familiar faces in the upcoming Resident Evil game, alongside a cautionary note against over-expectation.

It’s officially happening! Resident Evil Requiem’s producer, Masato Kumazawa, has revealed that some characters from earlier games will reappear in the new installment, raising the likelihood of seeing Leon Kennedy again.

“I would say that yes, there are going to be some characters from the past series to come in, but don’t over-expect or hype it,” Kumazawa states in an interview with Well-Played (via IGN). “We can’t promise you anything about that, but the only thing I can say is that there will be characters that have been involved in the Raccoon City incident involved in the game.”

Fans have been speculating about Leon’s potential return ever since Requiem’s announcement. The theories became so widespread that Capcom had to clarify that while Leon Kennedy wouldn’t be the lead in the next installment, they left the door open for his cameo.

Kumazawa’s statement has ignited excitement among fans. He confirmed the inclusion of characters involved in the Raccoon City event, further intensifying hopes of seeing beloved figures.

The narrative may also welcome others such as Alyssa Ashcroft, Ada Wong, Sherry Birkin, Jill Valentine, or the ever-popular Claire Redfield. Yet, as excited as fans are, the spotlight remains firmly on the possibility of Leon’s return.
