The annual Liberty Day celebrations in Helldivers 2 have commenced, featuring the minigame ‘Whack-a-Terminid’ available for a limited time. Players can also earn the exclusive Liberty Day’s Cape by collectively eliminating 40 million enemies using the R-2124 Constitution rifle by October 27.

Helldivers 2’s Liberty Day is a tribute to Managed Democracy and is celebrated every October 26. This inscribes the date into real-world significance as it coincides with the birthday of Arrowhead Game Studios’ Chief Creative Officer, Johan Pilestedt. The event not only honors Liberty Day but also the launch of the game following the release of its 2024 update.

As part of this year’s festivities, players can test their skills in a dedicated browser game. In the Whack-a-Terminid challenge, players must click on Terminid enemies that emerge from various holes before time runs out. Connected users can even save their scores.

The current year’s Liberty Day face several challenges, including performance issues with the PC version, leading to a mixed reception on Steam. Despite the trials, updates are being rolled out to enhance player experience.
