The release timeline for Path of Exile 2 has experienced considerable setbacks. Initially anticipated to complete its early access phase shortly after its launch, the developer Grinding Gear Games has publicly acknowledged the delay.
Mark Roberts, co-director of the project, emphasized his belief that the game will be fully launched in 2026. He remarked, “I would be beyond shocked if that didn’t happen.”
In a prior update, game director Jonathan Rogers had expressed optimism about meeting the 2025 timeline. However, unforeseen challenges, including server issues prompted by DDoS attacks, have contributed to postponements.
While development progresses, the team is focused on enhancing gameplay based on user feedback, recognizing the need to balance the early access format with user expectations. Rogers warned that significant additional content needed within the timeframe might be problematic.
