One of the significant failings of Battlefield 6 has been the ineffectiveness of its basic transport jeep. With limited seating and minimal protection, utilizing this vehicle often results in easy targets for opposing players.
In my extensive playtime, I’ve experienced very few successful journeys in the Light Ground Transport (LGT) without being shot at or blown up. Its ineptitude at transport has led many players to avoid it entirely in favor of traveling on foot.
Enter the Traverser Mark 2, which is set to debut in the Season 1 update of Battlefield 6. I had the opportunity to test-drive the Traverser during a preview session for the new maps, Eastwood and Blackwell Fields, and I couldn’t help but feel its absence would leave a significant void in the game.
The Traverser is considered a larger, stronger, and more menacing sibling to the LGT. Although it accommodates one less passenger, it boasts three times the firepower and armor, allowing it to act almost like a tank. Its design includes a protected top machine gun and side gunners, eliminating blind spots that often plague its predecessor.
Not only does the Traverser resist damage from RPGs, but it also comes equipped with a self-repair mechanism, marking its place as the first genuine Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) in Battlefield 6. This vehicle is designed for strategic gameplay and can significantly shift team dynamics on the battlefield.
There is great anticipation for how the rollout of the Traverser will affect gameplay across the existing maps. It is expected to enhance transport options and create new tactical possibilities, enabling teams to execute elaborate flanking maneuvers more effectively.
Release Date: The Traverser will be available starting October 28, kicking off the first season. Expect enhanced gameplay and more dynamic battles!
