The Sims Mobile Faces Shutdown in January

Electronic Arts will end support for The Sims Mobile, shutting down its servers permanently in January 2026.

Electronic Arts has announced that it will be discontinuing its support for The Sims Mobile, effectively pulling the plug on its servers. Players can expect the game to officially shut down on January 20, 2026.

The final update will prevent real money transactions but will provide unlimited energy to enhance player experience for the last few months. Starting from January 6, 2026, all Build Mode and Create A Sim items will be available to all players without level-based restrictions.

“We want to give everyone the opportunity to build their dream home, design their perfect Sims, and experience everything TSM has to offer before the servers close,” EA stated in their shutdown announcement. They expressed interest in seeing players’ creations before the end.

Players have until January 20, 2026, at 1:59 PM UTC to enjoy the game before it becomes permanently inaccessible, as all saved data will also be wiped following the server shutdown.

The decision to discontinue The Sims Mobile aligns with EA’s previous decisions, as it halted new in-game events back in January 2024. While the game originally launched in full in March 2018, the community’s disappointment has been palpable, particularly given the lack of crossplay features with The Sims 4.
