One Battlefield 6 player has captured the hearts of fans by recreating the iconic Noshahr Canals map from BF3 using the game’s innovative Portal tool. Since its release, Battlefield 6 has enjoyed great success, marked by significant player engagement and strong sales figures for EA.
While the game features a healthy assortment of built-in content, including a thrilling single-player campaign and diverse multiplayer options, it is the Portal mode that showcases tremendous potential for future gameplay. First introduced in Battlefield 2042, this mode has received considerable enhancements, granting players greater control and creativity.
Recreating Noshahr Canals
Portal creators have demonstrated the tool’s capabilities, with notable projects including Call of Duty’s Shipment map remade in Battlefield 6. Recently, a user known as Matavatar completed an impressive remake of the Noshahr Canals map, evoking nostalgia for players familiar with Battlefield 3, even though it was based on one of the maps from Battlefield 6.
Matavatar expressed that crafting the map was a lengthy process due to asset limitations, and currently, no interactive experiences are available for players. They referenced Battlefield 2042’s version of Noshahr Canals to inform their design, utilizing the engineer Lis and her G-84 TGM shoulder launcher, which includes a rangefinder.
Despite the wealth of easy-to-access Portal experiences currently in-game, the tool has faced criticism as it’s been used to create XP farming scenarios, which was an issue in Battlefield 2042. This has led to server issues and has garnered developer attention, with DICE planning to address XP progression in Battlefield 6, with hopes of reducing the reliance on such farms.
