Final Fantasy 7 Remake previously expanded the game’s initial hours into a significant RPG experience that added depth and emotion.
Unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth ballooned its content, which raised eyebrows among the player base due to its extensive open world and lengthy side quests. Though the main story still progresses, many gamers feel bogged down by certain repetitive sections, such as box-throwing activities and lengthy dungeon segments.
In a recent interview with Screenrant, director Naoki Hamaguchi reflected on the lengths of these gameplay segments. He expressed, “Regarding time management in some parts, especially in FF7 Rebirth, I honestly don’t believe they were longer than needed. Nowadays, players often feel overwhelmed with too many things to play, leading to the desire for things to conclude swiftly.”
Still, Hamaguchi acknowledges community feedback and aims for a tighter narrative in the trilogy’s conclusion. “As we prepare for the final chapter, we are balancing story delivery to ensure a more concise experience,” he mentioned. Fans are hopeful for a future where they won’t have to engage in lengthy trivial tasks just to progress.
