Players Celebrate as The Crew 2's Offline Mode Launches

After delays, Ubisoft finally rolls out the offline mode for The Crew 2, allowing gamers to play without an internet connection.

Ubisoft has finally implemented the long-awaited offline mode for The Crew 2, enabling players to switch between online and offline gameplay. Officially termed Hybrid Mode, this feature allows the game to be accessible even when servers are unavailable.

Background Drama

Previously, Ubisoft faced backlash after shutting down servers for The Crew in April 2024, making the game unplayable. This led to a significant consumer protest and a promise from Ubisoft to bring offline support to The Crew 2.

What to Expect

With today’s update, players can choose their gameplay mode when starting the game. If the internet connection fails, the game defaults to offline mode, maintaining playability. However, online-exclusive features like in-game purchases and multiplayer content will be unavailable offline. Players can transfer online saves to offline, but this will overwrite existing offline saves.

As Ubisoft assures their commitment to long-term access for gamers, they acknowledge the small victories they desperately need after the tumultuous few years.

“This represents a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to ensuring long-term access to The Crew 2 for all players,” Ubisoft stated.
