Players Uncover Hidden Sniper Nerf in Battlefield 6

A surprising nerf affecting sniper rifles has emerged in Battlefield 6, leading to dissatisfaction among players.

One Battlefield 6 player has claimed to discover a significant unannounced nerf to sniper rifles, leading to issues for players not utilizing the Recon class. Battlefield 6 was released on October 10, 2025, and is playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The game introduced an open weapons system, allowing every class access to all types of firearms, a shift from the previous iterations that had a closed system. This change has generated mixed feelings among players, with some favoring the traditional closed weapon restriction, necessitating specific class selection to access certain equipment.

Battlefield 6’s Sniper Rifles Have Been Nerfed

A recent Twitter post by streamer StodehTV showcased gameplay where, despite aiming perfectly with a sniper rifle, the player’s shots missed. They noted that sniper shots would randomly miss even if perfectly aimed unless using the Recon class in Battlefield 6.

StodehTV pointed out this didn’t occur during the game’s beta phase, suggesting this nerf was added silently before the official launch. Players have split opinions regarding this update; while some feel it undermines the open system approach, others contend that it underscores the necessity of the Recon class, highlighting role significance.

The developers’ response to this feedback is yet to be determined, but players wishing to effectively use snipers in Battlefield 6 should consider selecting the Recon class at the beginning of their matches. Despite some challenges, many are optimistic about the game’s trajectory moving forward.
