Why Battlefield 6 Recommends Uninstalling the Campaign Post Completion
Battlefield 6 suggests that players remove the campaign mode from their consoles after finishing it to free up storage space, a decision backed by developers to help players manage their game installations more effectively.
Battlefield 6 Encourages Players to Remove the Campaign
Battlefield 6 is pushing players to uninstall its campaign mode after they finish it to help manage storage space on their gaming devices. Unlike other large titles such as God of War Ragnarok, Battlefield 6 has a manageable file size but DICE advises removing the campaign to make room for other installations.
After a much-anticipated launch, Battlefield 6 debuted on October 10, with many praising its multiplayer capabilities. However, the campaign has received mixed reviews due to issues such as poor AI and an unsatisfying storyline, featuring only 9 missions that take about 4-5 hours to complete.
Make Space on Your Console
Players who finish the campaign will see a message instructing them: “Play again to complete challenges or uninstall single player to save space.” This approach, while unusual for a AAA game, addresses the larger issue of storage as game sizes continue to increase. This allows players to selectively install components of the game, similar to what has been seen in other titles like Call of Duty.
Despite criticisms surrounding the single-player experience, Battlefield 6 is currently a top seller in the UK, driven mainly by interest in the multiplayer offering, which previously broke concurrent player records on Steam during its open beta.
