Positive Outlook for the PC Industry
Recent data from IDC reveals that global PC sales rose 9.4% during the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period the previous year. In contrast, sales only increased by 1% in the American market. The surge is attributed to the transition to Windows 11 and the refreshing of hardware in regions such as Asia, where sales also saw a 14% increase.
However, the US market has been adversely affected by recent import tariffs and general economic uncertainties. Despite this, IDC remains optimistic about the overall health of the PC market, projecting continued demand into 2026 due to preparedness for Windows 11 and AI developments.
In total, 75.9 million units were sold globally in this quarter, with Lenovo, HP, and Dell being the leading brands.
