Developer Penalizes Cheaters After Leaderboard Controversy in Popular Roguelike

The developer of a trending roguelike game has taken steps to eliminate cheating after players manipulated the leaderboard system.

Score-chasing is back on the menu.

Recently, the smash-hit roguelike game Megabonk faced significant issues as cheaters hijacked its leaderboards. In response, the lead developer, Vedinad, took action, stating that the leaderboards were reset to address the exploitation.

“Cheaters you better watch your ass or I’m clapping your cheeks back to the shadow realm where you belong.”

(Translation: Cheaters should be cautious as we will not tolerate such behavior.)

The patch notes included an apology from Vedinad for the disruptions caused to players due to the cheating incidents. Resetting the leaderboards aims to ensure fair competition while banning identified cheaters. The game, which features retro graphics and engaging gameplay, has captivated millions since its launch.

With new balance changes aimed at improving gameplay, Vedinad has expressed a commitment to continued updates and enhancements, promising features such as multiplayer options and new content in the future.
