PGL continues to enhance its future tournament calendar.
PGL recently announced significant details about its tournament timeline, confirming that CS:GO will return to Cluj-Napoca in 2026. The event is scheduled for February 9-23, featuring 16 teams, each invited via the VRS, competing for a substantial prize pool of $1,250,000. Additionally, the schedule includes two further tier-one events set for February 8-22 and March 16-29 in 2027.
Alongside this announcement, PGL introduced a new rule stipulating that a team may lose its invitation rights if it accepted an invite but failed to attend the last eligible event. This rule aims to penalize teams for last-minute withdrawals, as seen with FURIA’s recent withdrawal from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, which allowed Imperial Valkyries to step in.
With the addition of two new events for 2027, PGL’s schedule is rapidly filling, but the February 8-22 event conflicts with FISSURE’s initial event of the year running from February 9-22.
