Ubisoft Unveils New Free DLC for Assassin's Creed Mirage Set in Saudi Arabia's Visionary Economic Region

The upcoming free DLC for Assassin's Creed Mirage, which adds substantial gameplay content, is set to highlight the historical significance of the region desired by the Saudi government for development.

Ubisoft announced that the free DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch on November 18. This expansion, titled Valley of Memory, adds a new main quest, side missions, and additional gameplay content in the historically rich region of AlUla. Players once again step into the shoes of Basim to follow the mystery of his father, believed to be alive.

The DLC promises to provide up to six extra hours of gameplay, set in a vibrant world filled with historical landmarks. The engagement with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has raised eyebrows due to the nation’s controversial human rights record, particularly regarding the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The reveal included statements from Dr. Abdulrahman Alsuhaibani, highlighting AlUla’s potential as a cultural and economic epicenter. Visitors in the game will explore various significant sites while navigating threats from local bandits.

This project illustrates how gaming can intertwine with political and cultural agendas, raising questions about the implications of corporate partnerships with state entities. As the gaming industry evolves, such content could become increasingly common, prompting discussions on ethics and representation in gaming.
