Naughty Dog's Upcoming Game Intergalactic Receives Positive Development News

Naughty Dog fans are excited as the studio's next game, Intergalactic, progresses faster than expected, signaling good news for players.

Naughty Dog fans have received unexpected and exciting news regarding the studio’s next title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. It appears the game is being developed more swiftly than fans initially believed. While the game may still be a few years away from its release, Naughty Dog is hiring localization staff, a clear sign that development is advancing.

Naughty Dog Begins Localization for Intergalactic

Although a release date has yet to be announced, early hints about Intergalactic suggest a potential launch in 2027. This speculation is gaining traction as the studio appears to be deep into development phases, signaled by current hiring activity. Although it might not be ready for release soon, this indicates a smooth and productive development cycle.

In a competitive market, it seems unlikely that Intergalactic will release in 2026, especially with other major titles, such as Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine and Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6, set to launch around the same time. Having two major titles from PlayStation releasing together would likely be detrimental to both games.

Director Neil Druckmann has described Intergalactic as “incredible,” teasing that what was presented at the Game Awards was only the “tip of the iceberg.” Fans remain hopeful that Naughty Dog can capture their previous successes from acclaimed franchises such as The Last of Us and Uncharted with this new IP.
