Skyrim Mod Introduces Over 60 Hours of New Gameplay After More Than Ten Years of Development

A new mod for Skyrim, named Lordbound, adds over 60 hours of additional content, including quests and dungeons, marking its first public release after a decade in the making.

A new [Skyrim] mod called Lordbound has been released, providing over 60 hours of new content including quests, dungeons, and various items. This mod has been in the works for over ten years, finally reaching its initial public release.

The [Skyrim] modding community has kept the game thriving for nearly 14 years, with numerous creators bringing their concepts to life through Bethesda’s classic RPG. Currently, [Skyrim Special Edition] features over 117,000 mods available on Nexus Mods, the platform that contains the largest selection of mods for any game. The best Skyrim mods range from significant overhauls to smaller quality-of-life enhancements.

New Skyrim Lordbound Mod Adds Massive Amount of Content

Available on Nexus Mods, the eagerly awaited Lordbound mod was launched on October 2, adding “about 60+ hours of content” to the game. This new content introduces the brand-new land of Druadach to [Skyrim], a region reportedly larger than the DLC area of Solstheim from [Dragonborn]. The update features more than 40 quests, over 50 dungeons, an original soundtrack, and fully-voiced NPCs. The Lordbound team claims there are many new items included, describing them as “loot that you’ll want to carry over to your future adventures.”

The highlight is the main quest of Lordbound, described as “the biggest main quest you’ve ever played in Skyrim, with choices and consequences that change the state of the valley.” However, the developers caution players that despite the release, Lordbound is still a work in progress, and bugs are to be expected during gameplay.

Development for Lordbound began in 2014 and included a flashy trailer for Skyrim revealed in 2018, which suggested a release that year. The project’s scope has significantly expanded since then, making it exciting to see how it evolves now that it has been released to the public.
