Fortnite Teams Up with K-Pop Demon Hunters, Reviving Excitement Similar to Hatsune Miku's Debut
The collaboration brings fresh skins and a new gameplay mode inspired by the K-Pop Demon Hunters movie.
I find myself completely captivated. It seems that pandering truly resonates with me, as highlighted by Fortnite’s new collaboration with K-Pop Demon Hunters—one of the most thrilling collaborations for game skins since they introduced Hatsune Miku armed with an AK-47.
For those unfamiliar with K-Pop Demon Hunters, Rumi, Zoey, and Mira are members of the girl group Huntr/x who also hunt demons. Their story unfolds as they combat the demon boy band known as Saja Boys while fortifying the anti-demon barrier called Honmoon.

Although the concept may sound odd when written down, K-Pop Demon Hunters blends clever humor with genuine storytelling, both celebrating and mocking K-Pop and K-dramas. The animation quality mirrors that of recent Sony projects, like the Spiderverse films, evoking nostalgia for the K-Pop era I cherished in the late 2000s.
K-Pop Demon Hunters soared to Netflix popularity this past June, even surpassing the initial season of Squid Game to become the most viewed content on the platform. Its songs have achieved higher rankings than real-life stars like BTS and Blackpink on the US Spotify charts, according to BBC.
Therefore, it was inevitable for Fortnite to collaborate with Huntr/x. The event features three new skins—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—alongside emotes and gameplay alterations drawing inspiration from the movie. This includes a ramen-eating emote and a special back bling, with hopes for additional content, such as the Saja Boys in future phases.
From now until November 1, players can engage in Demon Rush, a revamped version of Horde Rush where you fight endless waves of demons inspired by the film.
The excitement I feel about these collaborations isn’t measured exclusively by what is currently in play; I also fantasize about the required inclusion of the Saja Boys in the Fortnite universe.
