In a recent update, the developers behind Hotel Barcelona, a collaborative work by Swery and Suda51, have issued an apology concerning the usage of AI in their game. The update admitted that the game featured some AI-generated content, particularly in the form of voiceovers and logos created using generative fill AI.
The developers emphasized their commitment to ethical practices stating, “We are opposed to any professional GenAI use that causes environmental harm, displaces jobs, or arises from unethical datasets.”
They also announced plans to remove this AI content in a future patch, asserting that all content in Hotel Barcelona will be human-created, thanking the community for their vigilance in pointing out these issues.
