Discontent Among Final Fantasy 14 Players Over New Cosmetic Pricing

Final Fantasy 14 introduces new cosmetic items that have sparked criticism from players due to their high prices.

On September 30, Final Fantasy 14 unveiled new cosmetic items on its Online Store to celebrate the launch of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. However, many players expressed dissatisfaction regarding the total price, which they felt was exorbitant compared to the game.

The store items include outfits inspired by characters such as Ramza Beoulve and Ovelia Atkascha, each priced at $18, along with the Final Fantasy Tactics Orchestrion Set available for $15. Players noted that the total cost of $69 (before tax) surpasses the launch price of the Ivalice Chronicles.

The earlier release of outfits, like Crystarium Rebel’s Attire from the Shadowbringers expansion, had also drawn mixed feedback from fans. Both games have been developed by the same studio, with Naoki Yoshida playing a key production role.

With the impending Patch 7.35 coming on October 7 for Final Fantasy 14, expectations are high for further additions to the cosmetic lineup.
