EA Updates Fans on Corruption Issues with Sims 4 Save Files

Electronic Arts has addressed ongoing save file corruption problems affecting players of The Sims 4, revealing potential causes and their investigation plans.

EA has issued a new report about ongoing save file corruption issues affecting players in The Sims 4. This follows a previous report from August where The Sims 4 assured fans it was looking into corrupted saves for a solution.

This popular game has been experiencing various glitches, including serious gameplay disruptions due to corrupted save files since late 2023.

EA Addresses Save Corruption Bug

In a recent post, EA has confirmed the investigation into the save file corruption, which coincided with the For Rent expansion released in 2023. The developers suspect that temporary “scratch files” vital for game functionality might be deleted, causing the game not to operate correctly. They have also noted that certain types of lots, notably large ones, often lead to frustrating endless loading screens.

While the team works to rectify this issue, they have removed the cheating command “bb.increaserentalunitcap” to help prevent further issues. Players are encouraged to report any additional problems so these can be included in their evaluation during this crisis. However, many players express dissatisfaction with the slow progress and are still unable to enjoy the For Rent expansion they purchased.
