Pokemon TCG Unveils Mega Evolution Card Pull Rates
The latest Mega Evolution set for Pokemon TCG reveals the pull rates for its rarest cards, offering insights on card scarcity and player expectations.
A recent report sheds light on the pull rates for the Pokemon TCG’s newest Mega Evolution set, detailing the likelihood of obtaining its rare cards. This expansion marks a significant return of Mega Pokemon since 2016 and introduces new Trainer cards. Players now have a clearer understanding of card rarity within this popular trading card game.
The report from TCGPlayer outlines that Double Rares, the least rare category, can be found in one out of every five packs. Meanwhile, Illustration Rares and Ultra Rares appear in about one out of nine and one out of twelve packs, respectively. Notably, the Special Illustration Rares, which are some of the most sought after, typically can be pulled once every 101 packs, making them more difficult to acquire compared to their Scarlet and Violet counterparts. The new Mega Hyper Rares, the pinnacle of rarity, are found only once in every 1,260 packs, underscoring their exclusivity.
Mega Evolution TCG Pull Rates
- Double Rares: 1 in 5 packs
- Illustration Rares: 1 in 9 packs
- Ultra Rares: 1 in 12 packs
- Special Illustration Rares: 1 in 101 packs
- Mega Hyper Rares: 1 in 1,260 packs
The unveiled pull rates highlight the scarcity of certain Mega Evolution expansion cards, indicating that to get a Special Illustration Rare card, a player would average the opening of three booster boxes. Additionally, players might only pull one Mega Hyper Rare after opening 36 booster boxes, as the set contains only two such cards: Mega Gardevoir ex and Mega Lucario ex.
Looking ahead, more excitement is in store for fans, as another main set is slated for release before the end of 2025, adding to the anticipation surrounding the series.
