Capcom has announced that three titles from the Resident Evil franchise will be arriving on the Switch 2 on February 27, 2026. The lineup includes Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil Requiem, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The announcement came during a Nintendo Direct presentation held in September.
“The process went smoothly,” stated Producer Masato Kumazawa in a recent conversation with VGC.
Translation: Producer Masato Kumazawa shared that the development process was encouraged by their positive experiences with Resident Evil Village on the new hardware.
According to Kumazawa, the successful performance of Resident Evil Village motivated them to create versions of the other two titles for the Switch 2. Notably, this is the first time in over ten years that a core Resident Evil title is premiering on a Nintendo system.
This collective launch is intended to give new players immediate access to all three major entries in the franchise, allowing them to dive into the horror experience right from the start. Kumazawa explained that the familiar performance of certain games on the original Switch has helped them build a solid foundation for transitioning to the new console.
