Reminder: Keep Motion Blur On in Silent Hill F to Avoid Glitches

A warning about a potential visual glitch in Silent Hill F related to motion blur settings.

Players of Silent Hill F may want to keep motion blur enabled to avoid encountering a peculiar glitch. While experiencing the game, I noticed an unusual issue where everything would shrink to fit only the top-left corner of my screen, leaving the UI intact but causing a colorful flickering smear across the rest of the view. Although other team members didn’t face this, it occurred consistently during my playthrough at Ebisugaoka.

After some investigation, I realized that disabling motion blur was the culprit, which I wish I had discovered during my first 20 hours of gameplay. Keeping motion blur activated seems to prevent this specific glitch. However, players should be prepared for cutscenes locked at 30 fps, stamina-based combat, weapon degradation, and a particularly silly twist. While not everyone values these mechanics, experiencing a game compressed to a quarter of the screen is universally undesirable.

Additionally, modifications are already appearing, such as a community-created option to eliminate fog—typically a signature feature of the Silent Hill series—though the novelty of a bunny costume may still appeal to some.
