One remarkable aspect of PC gaming is the ability to create mods that express creativity and humor, often in ways developers may not endorse. Recently, a mod known as Epic’s Skibidi Toilet was crafted to poke fun at the narrative director, Sam Winkler, who stated the game would reduce ’toilet humor’. During a public statement, he lamented, “If the word ‘skibidi’ ships in the game, I’m gonna cry real tears.” This statement led to a mod evoking exactly that—the Skibidi Toilet is now a part of Borderlands 4, much to Winkler’s chagrin.
Winkler’s Quote: “If the word ‘skibidi’ ships in the game under my watch I’m gonna cry real tears.”
Winkler’s response has been mostly light-hearted, despite the obvious jest made at his expense. The mod creator, EpicNNG, acknowledged the motivation behind this playful jab, remarking:
“I created this mod specifically to spite Samuel Winkler.”
As mods continue to enrich the gameplay experience, it’s important to remember they can also introduce elements playful and irreverent in nature, challenging the norms set by game developers.
