The Upcoming Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection Features Enhanced Multiplayer and Quality Updates
Capcom unveils new features and multiplayer options for the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection ahead of its 2026 release.
The Tokyo Game Show 2025 is set to begin on September 25, and Capcom has already provided an early glimpse of the upcoming Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. This installment will come with online multiplayer and several quality of life improvements.
Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection will encompass a full collection of all the classic Mega Man games, slated for launch with these significant enhancements in 2026.
The first three entries in the Mega Man Star Force series, namely Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon, were initially released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS and introduced a remarkable chapter within the Mega Man universe. Capcom later expanded the franchise with Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja and Zerker x Saurian in 2007, followed by the concluding titles in 2008 through Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker and Black Ace. Although development for Mega Man Star Force 4 was in progress around 2009-2010, it was ultimately abandoned. Now, over two decades since the launch of the initial trilogy, the Mega Man Star Force games are returning with a Legacy Collection.
Trailer and New Features
The trailer released in the Capcom Showcase at TGS 2025 showcases how all Mega Man Star Force titles will be packaged together. Players can step back into the role of protagonist Geo Stelar, merging with the alien Omega-Xis to transform into Mega Man. This union empowers players to save the world through gameplay that fuses RPG and deck-building mechanics, introducing new features such as difficulty assist options.
Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection will also feature special cards that were only available during limited-time events and toy distributions. Fans will have the choice between retro and enhanced graphics while enjoying both original and new soundtrack versions, offering a nostalgic yet fresh experience.
Additionally, this collection will incorporate multiplayer options, enabling both casual and competitive online play, while fans can unite with up to 100 opponents to form Brother Bands.
Set to arrive on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026, the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is already generating excitement among fans, with many eager to experience the series revival at the upcoming TGS 2025.
