Permanently Defeating One of the Most Frustrating Enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Learn how to permanently eliminate Clawmaidens in Hollow Knight: Silksong, making your gameplay smoother.

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, players can permanently defeat the Clawmaidens, removing them from the game entirely. This requires precise platforming skills in a location that can be easily overlooked. Once accomplished, players will find these pesky non-boss enemies absent from Pharloom.

The Clawmaidens, dubbed as ‘puppet servants of the Citadel’ in-game lore, become a common foe encountered midway through the journey. Dealing significant damage and capable of stealing Hornet’s Silk to execute the damaging Silk Spear attack, these enemies significantly challenge players.

How to Eliminate Clawmaidens

According to reports, players can dismiss all Clawmaidens shortly after encountering them by exploring the High Halls subarea of The Citadel. Here, players must locate a seemingly empty room, maneuver a cart beneath a leaking water stream, and perform a double jump to access a hidden area.

  1. Obtain the double jump ability.
  2. Discover the empty room containing a cart in High Halls.
  3. Position the cart beneath water dripping from the ceiling.
  4. Execute a double jump and continue to ascend.
  5. Eliminate the Silk Nest when reached.

The Silk Nest is pivotal, serving as the source that fuels the Clawmaidens and explains their relentless pursuit for Silk. By destroying this location, the occurrences of Clawmaidens throughout Pharloom will cease, simplifying traversal in these regions.

Navigating the High Halls becomes less daunting, allowing players to explore adjacent areas, such as the Choral Chambers, without the constant irritation of encounters with Clawmaidens.
