I’m not usually a big drinker, but this weekend, I’ll be trying several pints because the monastic management simulator Ale Abbey has just released its 1.0 version. This update not only includes eight new beers but also a brewing competition that adds an engaging league system for players.
For those new to medieval beer-making, Ale Abbey allows players to establish a monastery in a boozy slice of medieval Europe and cultivate it into the premier monastery brewing establishment in Christendom. The gameplay mechanics involve constructing new rooms in your monastery, recruiting monks and nuns, and ensuring their happiness and health.
What sets Ale Abbey apart is its unique brewing system. Players can craft their beers by selecting the ale style, brewing equipment, and various factors influencing the quality, quantity, and aging duration after the beer is barrelled.
The latest update introduces new styles of ale, additional markets for selling brews, new furniture, an expanded research tree, and new world events. To celebrate the launch, Ale Abbey is available at a 35% discount, reducing the price to $9.75 until September 29.
