Zuckerberg Dismisses Tech Failures During Meta's Smart Glasses Demo

Mark Zuckerberg encounters major setbacks while unveiling Meta's advanced smart glasses, revealing challenges even the best technologies face.

During a live demonstration on September 18, 2025, Mark Zuckerberg faced a comedy of errors while unveiling Meta’s new smart glasses. The event, streamed from Meta Connect 2025, was meant to showcase innovative features designed to enhance user capabilities. However, the presentation fell flat as the glasses repeatedly misunderstood commands and failed to assist chef Jack Mancuso in preparing a steak sauce.

Mancuso asked, “What do I do first?” but was met with silence, leading to awkward moments and laughter from the audience. After several failed attempts to engage the AI, Mancuso humorously remarked, “Alright, I think the Wi-Fi might be messed up.”

As Zuckerberg reassured the crowd, stating, “It’s all good, it’s all good,” he noted the irony of spending years developing technology only to be caught off-guard by Wi-Fi issues on the day of the demo.

Zuckerberg later attempted another demonstration using the glasses to answer video calls, which also ended in failure as the devices did not respond correctly. Despite these setbacks, the event generated significant chatter, drawing both criticism and intrigue regarding the future of Meta’s technology.
