Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Proclaims Revolutionary Plans in New Collaboration with Intel
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Intel's Lip-Bu Tan unveil ambitious partnership aimed at developing groundbreaking products for the PC and data center markets.
At a press event earlier, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan addressed the media regarding their new partnership. Although specific details on the chip development processes were kept vague, both leaders expressed enthusiasm about introducing innovative products aimed at capturing significant market segments in the data center and PC arenas.
“With respect to the size of the market, the data center market and the PC market are both large, and we’re going to build revolutionary products, first of its kind products. Nothing of its kind has ever been built before for the x86 market,” stated Huang.
“The data center market and the PC market are both large, and we are excited to create unprecedented products. Nothing like this has appeared before for the x86 market.”
Huang elaborated on the collaboration, highlighting that their teams have been discussing potential solutions for nearly a year, keeping the partnership under wraps until now.
This collaboration involves Nvidia CPU designs tailored for AI infrastructures, as well as system-on-chips (SoCs) that integrate Nvidia’s RTX GPU chiplets for consumer devices.
“Intel has the Foveros multi-technology packaging capability, enabling the mixing and matching of technologies between Nvidia and Intel, which facilitates quick innovation and delivery of complex systems,” Huang continued.
“Intel’s Foveros multi-technology packaging capabilities provide a unique opportunity for integrating our technologies, allowing rapid innovation in multi-chip systems packages.”
Despite some uncertainty about the exact nature of Intel’s involvement as a foundry for advanced AI chips, CEO Lip-Bu Tan reaffirmed their commitment to partnership and collaboration across platforms.
