New Insights on Ghost of Yotei's Camping Features
PlayStation has unveiled additional information on the camping features in Ghost of Yotei, enhancing gameplay with unique mechanics and interactions.
PlayStation has provided new insights into Ghost of Yotei’s camping system, showcasing a variety of ways for players to engage with their surroundings and meet allies while gaining temporary perks.
With the game’s launch around the corner, there’s considerable excitement surrounding Ghost of Yotei. The camping feature promises to enhance realism in Atsu’s adventure set in early Edo period Japan.
A tweet from PlayStation elaborates on this new addition, detailing how establishing camp can aid Atsu during her quest. If her steed is nearby, Atsu can pitch her tent anywhere in the wilderness of Ezo, making campfires a central gameplay element that requires players to master striking flint and nurturing flames for stronger effects. Various food items can be cooked over the fire to yield temporary bonuses.
Additionally, the campfires will attract unique characters, including helpful NPCs like blacksmiths and merchants. This system eliminates the need for frequent trips back to settlements for supplies.
However, the camping experience may not be entirely peaceful, as some visitors attracted by the glow of the campfire may not be friendly, necessitating a use of the game’s combat system even while camping. Other features highlighted include the ability to create music and craft ammunition for ranged weapons.
As anticipation builds for the release, Ghost of Yotei is set to debut as a PlayStation 5 exclusive on October 2, 2025.
