Escape from Tarkov will be officially launching on Steam on November 15. While this may excite many players, those who currently own the game on other platforms must purchase it again for Steam access. This decision means that existing players will need to link their Steam account to their current Tarkov profile to play. Additionally, features such as friend list synchronization and Steam achievements will only be available to those who buy the game through the Steam storefront.
For those already invested in the game, the shift to Steam might feel bittersweet, especially seeing that it allows newcomers the chance to enjoy the game on a familiar platform. Moreover, the game will retain its community features, so players still have the option to add Tarkov as a non-Steam game if they prefer. Meanwhile, features exclusive to the Steam version will include lifelong playtime metrics and access to the Steam overlay.
