This afternoon, a clanmate informed me: “If you die in Solo Ops or Patrol you can no longer respawn 馃槀”. Initially, I thought this couldn’t be the case, as such a fundamental bug would drastically undermine gameplay. However, my testing confirmed the bug’s existence.
We are investigating an issue where players are unable to respawn in Solo Ops activities after dying. We are attempting to solve this issue as soon as we’re able. More information will be provided when available. Twitter Update
Once players die, the respawn button appears after the usual countdown but is unresponsive. To continue playing, one has to leave the activity or switch characters, a significant flaw. This bug also affects Patrol zones, although I was occasionally able to self-revive.
How soon this bug will be fixed remains uncertain, but Bungie’s acknowledgment suggests it’s a critical situation. You cannot have players grinding through every solo activity in the game without the option to respawn.
With the current state of problems surrounding Destiny 2, from extensive bugs to community discontent regarding Edge of Fate updates, it鈥檚 evident that the game is facing severe challenges.
