In a recent Twitter exchange, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford made remarks regarding player complaints about performance in Borderlands 4. He stated that only less than 1% of 1% of players have reported issues, implying that feedback on performance glitches may be exaggerated.
Pitchford explained that customer service reports make up about 1% of total game installations, meaning if 1 million copies of the game were installed, only about 10,000 complaints would emerge. He added that only 0.04% of those correspondences are related to performance problems specifically for PC users.
In his characteristic manner, he concluded that this small percentage showcases a significant contrast to the negativity observed in various online discussions about the game.
“This reality is dramatically different than what you would expect if your only sources of information were, say, certain internet threads.”
Translation: The prevalent negative sentiment online may not accurately reflect the majority of players’ experiences.
Despite the minimal reports to customer service, the game has still been met with mostly negative reviews on Steam, indicating ongoing concerns regarding its performance. Many players are left hoping for improvements through patches as the game continues to be monitored for enhancements.
