Beware of Fake Battlefield 6 Playtest Invites Circulating Online

Players are warned about fraudulent ads posing as playtest invitations for Battlefield 6's upcoming Battle Royale, risking account security.

Fake Battlefield 6 advertisements posing as playtest invitations for the upcoming Battle Royale mode have surfaced online, endangering fans’ Steam accounts. While Battlefield 6 is yet to be officially launched, EA is granting access to a select group of fans for ongoing playtests via Battlefield Labs. Recently, a new closed testing round is aimed at the much-anticipated Warzone competitor.

Last month, EA initiated multiple open beta weekends for Battlefield 6, finally offering fans an opportunity to play with the shooter following its reveal earlier this year. Despite past challenges with Battlefield 2042, the studio seems to be on a positive trajectory, with Battlefield 6 looking like a major success. The next installment will arrive for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 10, and given the extensive beta, it’s an exciting time for Battlefield enthusiasts.

Fake Battlefield 6 Ads Appear On Reddit

Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode has generated significant anticipation, leading scammers to exploit this excitement to compromise players’ Steam accounts. As noted by Battlefield Bulletin on Twitter, deceptive ads claiming to be playtest invitations for the game’s Battle Royale mode are circulating on Reddit, connecting users to bogus Steam sites intent on stealing credentials.

While fans are eager to dive into Battlefield 6 upon its full launch next month, the hype surrounding the Battle Royale mode is substantial. Very little information has been shared officially, but EA recently provided new insights into the mode. It promises some unique attributes, including what EA dubs the ‘most lethal ring in Battle Royale’. Unlike most titles, Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale ring will instantly kill any player who steps inside, presenting an extreme hazard for competitors.

For those looking forward to the single-player campaign of Battlefield 6, more details will emerge during the Tokyo Game Show 2025 later this month. EA has confirmed its attendance and will feature a live showcase for the single-player component on September 26.
