The game has performed exceptionally well in its beta tests, leading developers to recognize areas needing improvement.
Developers have discussed the quick turn mechanic, officially named “Flick Stick,” which allows for an immediate 180-degree turn to enhance gameplay experience on controllers, especially given the aim assist mechanics present in console versions. Matthew Nickerson stated:
“Aim assist slows users down while moving reticles across targets, making quick turns difficult. The quick turn option is essential for controller users to compete effectively against mouse and keyboard players.”
Additionally, as the game prepares for its release at the Tokyo Game Show, other gameplay elements, like movement and customization, are being adjusted following player feedback.
EA’s commitment to improving Battlefield 6 includes making alterations to the auto-spotting feature, which players have deemed too powerful, ensuring a balanced multiplayer experience leading up to launch.
