Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can soon get their hands on Shiny Koraidon and Shiny Miraidon through a Mystery Gift event slated to begin later in September. This announcement indicates that the distribution of these shiny legends will be limited to specific retailers like GameStop and EB Games, while supplies last.
The upcoming event allows trainers to partake in the quest of capturing Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon as part of an ongoing Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid event. Five-Star Tera Raid battles are currently available, featuring shiny Legendary Pokemon such as Wo-Chien and Ting-Lu, with the last treasure, Chi-Yu, set to be uploaded on September 18. Players will have until September 30 to claim all four Shiny Treasures of Ruin.
Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon will be available from September 26 to October 15, specifically in versions that do not feature them on the cover. For example, Shiny Koraidon will be accessible for Pokemon Violet players, while Shiny Miraidon will be reserved for Pokemon Scarlet trainers. To claim the Mystery Gift Codes, players must visit GameStop in the US or EB Games in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Notably, there is no purchase requirement to obtain the Shiny Pokemon codes, and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not necessary for redeeming the Mystery Gifts in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, players should be aware that neither Shiny Koraidon nor Shiny Miraidon can be transferred to Pokemon Legends: Z-A at launch, as compatibility with Pokemon Home will not be available then. Nonetheless, these Pokémon are expected to play significant roles in competitions, especially with the release of Pokemon Champions in 2026.
