In a familiar scenario within the gaming industry, another piece of DLC has sparked frustration among players, followed by an apology from its developer. Following Paradox’s recent apology for an update in Crusader Kings 3, it’s now Funcom’s turn to address complaints regarding their first DLC for Dune: Awakening, titled Lost Harvest.
The $12.99 DLC was supposed to introduce new storylines, vehicles, cosmetics, and a “Dune Man building set” for base construction on Arrakis. However, it turned out to only include four building pieces, which players deemed inadequate. Following a wave of discontent, Funcom issued a clarification to users.
“We realize that our communication around the contents of the DLC has not been clear enough…” (Translation: “We recognize that our communication regarding the DLC’s contents has been insufficient enough…”)
Funcom acknowledged the fans’ frustrations while promising additional content. They plan to offer around 15 more building pieces to enhance the set for owners of the Lost Harvest DLC, slated for release later this year.
In the meantime, players can enjoy Dune: Awakening for free over the weekend, with a 20% discount available until September 22.
