Donkey Kong Bananza received a surprise DLC launch during the Nintendo Direct for September 2025 called DK Island and Emerald Rush. While not the launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, players see Donkey Kong Bananza as a must-have exclusive for the console.

After launching in July, Donkey Kong Bananza has become an important title for Nintendo, characterized by its collectible 3D adventure gameplay. Players engage in terrain deformation, discover precious Banandium Gems, and now, with the new DLC, they have access to DK Island, a familiar setting from earlier franchise titles.

In the September Direct, Nintendo also introduced premium DLC. There are new activities called Emerald Rush, where players need to fulfill a specific Emerald quota within a time limit. Players can earn perks and enhance their experience on the island while exploring further features available in the DLC.

The new content for Donkey Kong Bananza includes opportunities for players to uncover hidden gems, unlock fashion items, and explore dynamic challenges in Emerald Rush gameplay. Nintendo’s DLC is set to be available for purchase from the eShop today.
